Your First Himalayan Summit

Island Peak (Imja Tse, 6,189m) is the most popular climbing peak in Nepal — and for good reason. Combined with the Everest Base Camp trek, this expedition gives you the best of both worlds: the iconic EBC experience plus the thrill of standing on a genuine Himalayan summit.

Our founder Ang Kami Sherpa has summited Island Peak over 222 times. There is literally no one more qualified to guide you to the top. His intimate knowledge of every crevasse, every ice step, and every weather window gives you the best chance of success.

The Climb

From high camp at 5,600m, you start the summit push around 2am. The route crosses a glacier, ascends a steep headwall using fixed ropes, and traverses a narrow ridge to the summit. On a clear morning, the sunrise from the top reveals Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Ama Dablam in all their glory.

What You Need

Basic fitness and a good attitude are essential. We provide all technical equipment (harnesses, crampons, ice axes) and comprehensive instruction. Previous climbing experience is helpful but not required — many of our clients summit Island Peak as their first ever mountain climb.
